"Nappily Ever After" is a romantic comedy directed by Haifaa al-Mansour ("Mary Shelley") from a script by Adam Brooks ("Definitely, Maybe") and Cee Marcellus based on the novel of the same name by Trisha R. Thomas.

The film stars Sanaa Lathan as a woman with a seemingly perfect life that begins to unravel, making her realize that she was living the life she thought she was supposed to live, not the one she really wanted. The cast also includes Ernie Hudson, Lyriq Bent, Lynn Whitfield, Ricky Whittle and Camille Guaty.

"Nappily Ever After" was released on September 21, 2018 by Netflix and received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics.

"Violet Jones (Sanaa Lathan) has a seemingly perfect life -- a high-powered job, an eligible doctor boyfriend and a meticulously maintained, flawless coiffure. But after a life-changing event doesn't go according to her plan, and a hair-raising incident at the hairdresser, her life begins to unravel.
