"The House" is a comedy that follows a couple, played by Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler, who start up an illegal casino in their own house's basement in order to raise money to send their daughter to university.

Co-written and directed by "Neighbors" scribe Andrew Jay Cohen, the film also stars Jason Mantzoukas, Ryan Simpkins, Nick Kroll, Allison Tolman, Rob Huebel and Lennon Parham.

"The House" opened in theaters on June 30th, 2017 and received mostly negative reviews from critics, who were disappointed that the film wastes a solid premise and talented cast on very thin comedic material. It also tanked at the box-office, grossing only $9 million in three days, making this the worst debut of Ferrell's career.
