THE WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION (2016)
JUMP BACK TO TOP
Product Description: From the team behind 2015's wildly successful adaptation of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None comes "a dark, perfectly contemporary morality tale" (The Daily Telegraph, UK) set in 1920s London.
When glamorous Emily French (Kim Cattrall, Sex and the City) is brutally murdered in her home, all the evidence points to French's young lover, Leonard Vole (Billy Howle, On Chesil Beach), to whom the heiress left her fortune. Ms. French's devoted housekeeper (Monica Dolan, The Casual Vacancy) proclaims Leonard's guilt, but Leonard insists that his wife, enigmatic chorus girl Romaine (Andrea Riseborough, Bloodline, Birdman), can prove his innocence. As the scandalous crime goes to trial, solicitor John Mayhew (Toby Jones, Detectorists) finds that the case may be his undoing.
Played to perfection by an illustrious cast, this "brilliantly twisted" (Daily Express, UK) drama shows that "Christie still has the power to give us goosebumps" (Metro, UK).

Sacro GRA (2013), winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, is an engaging tour of Rome s ring road, populated by a fascinating group of eccentrics. Rosi spent five years shooting Below Sea Level (2008), which documents the hand-to-mouth existence of California flatland squatters. JUMP BACK TO TOP
Product Description: The tale of an eccentric band of culinary ronin who guide the widow of a noodle shop owner on her quest for the perfect recipe, this rapturous “ramen western” by Japanese director Juzo Itami is an entertaining, genre-bending adventure underpinned by a deft satire of the way social conventions distort the most natural of human urges, our appetites. Interspersing the efforts of Tampopo (Nobuko Miyamoto) and friends to make her café a success with the erotic exploits of a gastronome gangster and glimpses of food culture both high and low, the sweet, sexy, and surreal Tampopo is a lavishly inclusive paean to the sensual joys of nourishment, and one of the most mouthwatering examples of food on film ever made.

RUMBLE FISH (1983) - Criterion Collection
JUMP BACK TO TOP
Product Description: In this deeply personal tale of estrangement and reconciliation between two rebellious brothers, set in a dreamlike and timeless Tulsa, Francis Ford Coppola gives mythic dimensions to intimate, painful emotions. After releasing the classically styled The Outsiders earlier the same year, the director returned to the work of S. E. Hinton, this time with a self-described “art film for teenagers.” Graced with a remarkable cast headed by Matt Dillon, Mickey Rourke, and Diane Lane; haunting black-and-white visuals that hark back to German expressionism and forward to Coppola’s own Tetro; and a powerful, percussive score by Stewart Copeland that underscores the movie’s romantic fatalism, Rumble Fish pulsates throughout with genuine love and dread.

THREE BROTHERS (1981)
JUMP BACK TO TOP
Product Description: ''A wonderful film that moves on waves of feeling. Francesco Rosi, who has one of the greatest compositional senses in the history of movies, keeps you in a state of emotional exaltation. A simple image has the kind of resonance that most directors never achieve.'' (Pauline Kael, New Yorker). Francesco Rosi established himself as one of the greatest chroniclers of Italy's stormy postwar history with such riveting classics as Salvatore Giuliano, The Mattei Affair and Illustrious Corpses. Three Brothers (Tre fratelli) explores similarly knotty social and political territory through the seemingly straightforward story of three siblings returning to their native southern Italy to pay homage to their late mother. However, their various professions a judge in Rome (Philippe Noiret), a spiritual counsellor in Naples (Vittorio Mezzogiorno), a factory worker in Turin (Michele Placido) have a profound effect on their response to this reunion.

THE PIED PIPER (1972)
JUMP BACK TO TOP
Product Description: The great Jacques Demy (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) directed this masterful retelling of the classic children's tale. Set in the Middle Ages, the divided town of Hamelin tries in vain to rid itself of the Black Plague. Music legend Donovan plays a mysterious musician who arrives in town promising to rid the town of their rat infestation by playing his magical flute, but the townspeople cannot put aside their personal agendas and ask the piper to help them with other deeds, as the town s petty and greedy leader, the sublimely creepy Donald Pleasence (Halloween) attempts to take advantage of their new savior.
