Now that 2016 is upon us, the Internet has provided us with some interesting new images from some of the highly anticipated flicks that we'll be able to enjoy in the next 366 days. The films for which we have new images are "Assassin's Creed", "Deadpool", "The Jungle Book", "The Girl on the Train", "Money Monster", Ghostbusters", "Bourne 5", "The Free State of Jones", "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", "The Accountant", "Doctor Strange", "Batman V Superman", "Finding Dory", "The Conjuring 2", "La La Land", "Neighbors 2", "Deepwater Horizon" and "Keanu".

ASSASSIN'S CREED
The "Assassin's Creed" movie is finally coming in 2016 with Michael Fassbender in the lead as Callum Lynch, a man who is forced to relive the memories of his 15th century Spanish ancestor via a Virtual Reality machine called the Animus. Directed by Justin Kurzel ("Macbeth"), the film also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Michael K. Williams. "Assassin's Creed" opens in theaters on December 21, 2016.
Official Synopsis
"Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day."
DEADPOOL
Tim Miller's "Deadpool" movie gets some new images via Entertainment Weekly and Empire magazines, which offer a look at stars Ryan Reynolds, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic, Ed Skrein and Gina Carano. The film opens in theaters on February 12, 2016.

"Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."
THE JUNGLE BOOK
A new image for Jon Favreau's adaptation of "The Jungle Book" has been released. The film is Disney's live-action version of their own animated film, and it stars Neel Sethi, Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong'o, Giancarlo Esposito and Christopher Walken. "The Jungle Book" opens in theaters on April 15, 2016.
THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN
"The Girl on the Train" is a thriller directed by Tate Taylor ("The Help") and based on a novel written by Paula Hawkins. It stars Emily Blunt as a woman named Rachel, who takes the same commuter train every day, and every day while waiting at the signal, she witnesses the same "perfect" couple (Luke Evans and Hayley Bennett) having breakfast. But one day she sees a shocking event and finds herself entwined in a dangerous intrigue. The film also stars Justin Theroux and Rebecca Ferguson. "The Girl on the Train" opens in theaters on October 7, 2016.
MONEY MONSTER
"Money Monster" is a thriller directed by Jodie Foster and it stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts. Clooney plays a financial guru who hosts a television show that encourages people to make bad investments. Things don't turn out quite the way he expected when an angry investor (Jack O'Connell) storms the TV set demanding answers and holds Clooney's character hostage. "Money Monster" opens in theaters on May 13, 2016.
GHOSTBUSTERS
The new "Ghostbusters" flick is scheduled for a summer release, and we have one of our first looks at the new paranormal-busting crew played by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Directed by Paul Feig ("Bridesmaids"), the film also stars Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Matt Walsh and Cecily Strong. "Ghostbusters" opens in theaters on July 15, 2016.
BOURNE 5
Obviously this sequel won't be titled "Bourne 5", but it's the closest we've got to a title until the filmmakers announce the official one. Details are scarce so far, but it seems that the new installment will deal with the post-Snowden world and our ever-diminishing civil liberties. Director Paul Greengrass and franchise star Matt Damon return and they are joined by Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, Riz Ahmed, Vincent Cassel and Julia Stiles. The release date has been set for July 29, 2016.
THE FREE STATE OF JONES
We have our first look at Matthew McConaughey and Mahershala Ali in the post-Civil War drama "The Free State of Jones". The film is directed by Gary Ross ("The Hunger Games") and it also stars and Keri Russell, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Jacob Lofland. "The Free State of Jones" opens in theaters on May 13, 2016.
FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
The Harry Potter spinoff "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" already has a teaser trailer in circulation, and now we have two new images, one of which introduces a new character played by Dan Fogler, a no-Maj named Jacob. The film also stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Ron Perlman, Colin Farrell, Jon Voight, Samantha Morton, Carmen Ejogo and Alison Sudol. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" opens in theaters on November 18, 2016.
THE ACCOUNTANT
The first official image from the thriller "The Accountant" has been released via Entertainment Weekly. Directed by Gavin O’Connor ("Warrior"), the film stars Anna Kendrick as a robotics industry whistleblower, and, as seen in the photo, she is joined by Ben Affleck in a number-crunching operation that will bring down the bad guys. The cast also includes Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons, Jeffrey Tambor, John Lithgow and Cynthia Addai-Robinson. "The Accountant" opens in theaters on October 7, 2016.
DOCTOR STRANGE
The first images of Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie have been released. Directed by Scott Derrickson ("Sinister"), the film also stars Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen. "Doctor Strange" opens in theaters on November 4, 2016.
BATMAN V SUPERMAN
Two more images from the highly anticipated "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" released by Entertainment Weekly offer a look at the new Batcave. Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Scoot McNairy, Jason Momoa, Tao Okamoto, Michael Shannon, Harry Lennix and Holly Hunter. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.
FINDING DORY
Above is a first look at two new characters from Pixar's "Finding Dory", the sequel to the studio's "Finding Nemo". The characters are Bailey the beluga whale (Ty Burrell) and Destiny the whale shark (Kaitlin Olson). Directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane, the film also features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ed O’Neill, Idris Elba, Dominic West and Willem Dafoe. "Finding Nemo" opens in theaters on June 17, 2016.
THE CONJURING 2
James Wan returns to the horror genre with "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist". Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise the roles of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, and the two are headed to London where the Hodgson family is dealing with demonic entities in their Enfield home. The cast also includes Frances O'Connor, Simon McBurney, Sterling Jerins, Madison Wolfe and Maria Doyle Kennedy. "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist" opens in theaters on June 10, 2016.
LA LA LAND
"Whiplash" director Damien Chazelle's next film is the musical "La La Land". Set in Los Angeles, the film stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as a struggling actress and a jazz pianist who fall in love. J.K. Simmons, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock and John Legend. "La La Land" opens in theaters on July 15, 2016.
UNTITLED TODD PHILLIPS COMEDY
Jonah Hill and Miles Teller star in a true story dramedy from director Todd Phillips ("The Hangover"). Hill and Teller play David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who won a $300 million contract from the Pentagon to arm America's allies in Afghanistan. The film was supposed to be titled "Arms and the Dudes", but at the time of the above photo's release there is no mention of an official title. The film also stars Ana de Armas, Shaun Toub and Barry Livingston. The release date has been set for August 19, 2016.
NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING
The sequel to 2014's hit comedy "Neighbors" is coming out this year and we have our first official photo. The new installment involves a sorority led by Chloe Grace Moretz and Selena Gomez. Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Ike Barinholtz, Carla Gallo, Dave Franco and Lisa Kudrow will reprise their roles. "Neighbors 2" opens in theaters on May 20, 2016.
KEANU
No relation to Keanu Reeves. The comedy "Keanu" is written by and stars Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. They play two friends who pretend to be gangsters in order to infiltrate a cartel and rescue their stolen cat named Keanu. Luis Guzmán, Will Forte, Nia Long and Method Man co-star. "Keanu" will be released on April 22, 2016.
DEEPWATER HORIZON
"Deepwater Horizon" is the true story of the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, which exploded in 2010 and created the worst oil spill in U.S. history. Directed by Peter Berg ("Lone Survivor"), the film stars Dylan O'Brien, Kurt Russell, Mark Wahlberg, Ethan Suplee, John Malkovich, Gina Rodriguez and Kate Hudson. "Deepwater Horizon" opens in theaters on September 30, 2016.
