Critical Response : Negative. "Act of Valor" is original in that it uses real Navy SEALs instead of experienced actors and attempts to be realistic, but critics think the movie falls short of its ambitions because its characters are underdeveloped and the action is ultimately reduced to a series of cliches that don't distinguish "Act of Valor" from any other generic actioner.
