Matt Reeves has been selected by Warner Brothers to direct "The Twilight Zone", a new big-screen version of the popular TV series. Reeves landed on top of the short-list thanks to his work as director/writer on movies like "Cloverfield" and the "Let Me In" remake of the similarly titled 2008 norwegian horror. I too believe he's probably the best choice at the moment. He's a young and talented filmmaker who has proven that he's got a solid grasp on working with visual effects and providing the eerie atmosphere that is an absolute requirement for a Twilight Zone movie. From what is known until now, the movie will not feature a collection of stories, like the 1983 movie did. The movie is written as a stand-alone story, unrelated to any of the TV series' episodes, and is described as being "one big science fiction action movie". The screenplay is being written by Jason Rothenberg and production is set to begin before next summer, if the cast and crew negotiations go well.
