In Theaters : DREAM HOUSE (2011)

Official Synopsis : Successful publisher Will Atenton (Daniel Craig) quit a job in New York City to relocate his wife, Libby (Rachel Weisz), and two girls to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived. When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from Ann Paterson (Naomi Watts), a neighbor who was close to the family that died. As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Will's dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next.

Genre: Thriller, Mystery

What to Expect : Surreal thriller with a great cast which is squandered on a mediocre plot featuring mildly interesting twists that were already ruined by the trailer. Maybe you should wait for the DVD, or at least, avoid the trailers at all costs if you enjoy experiencing plot twists. From the director that brought us such classics as "My Left Foot", "In the Name of the Father" and "In America".

Critical Response : Negative. The movie was not initially screened for critics. When they did see it, however, some pretty nasty reviews started to surface. Unconvincing, overwrought, dull and pretty much spoiled by the trailers, "Dream House" was simply labeled by one critic as being "dead - internally, externally, and scare-wise". Rated 8% on Rottentomatoes.com from 2 positive and 24 negative reviews.
