In Theaters, May 13, 2011 : EVERYTHING MUST GO

Official Synopsis : Adapted and directed by Dan Rush, and based on a short story by Raymond Carver, EVERYTHING MUST GO tells the story of NICK (WILL FERRELL) a career salesman whose days of being on top are long gone. The same day Nick gets fired, for falling off the wagon one last time, he returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their suburban home and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard. Faced with his life imploding, Nick puts it all on the line - or more properly, on the lawn - reluctantly holding a yard sale that becomes a unique strategy for survival. EVERYTHING MUST GO also stars Rebecca Hall and Laura Dern. -- (c) Roadside Attractions

What to Expect : Surprising, thoughtful comedy that doesn't star Will Ferrell as his usual wacky self. Just from the trailer you can see how restrained and involved he is. It might not be a huge improvement on the indie flicks of yesteryear, but hell, I'd pay money to see Ferrell do serious acting for a change.

Critical Response : Well received by critics, who appreciated Will Ferrell's performance which Peter Travers of "Roling Stones" calls a "performance of implosive intensity that rings true in every detail", and the heartfelt premise which Bill Gibron of "Filmcritic.com" says "treads the fine line between 'incredibly engaging' and 'uniquely underwhelming'" . 78% fresh on Rottentomatoes.com with 65 positive and 18 negative reviews. Limited Release in the US.
