Written and directed by Dan Fogelman, creator of the TV series "This is Us", the romantic drama "Life Itself" follows different generations of people in New York and Spain as their destinies intertwine. The film features an international cast that includes Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Mandy Patinkin, Olivia Cooke, Annette Bening, Laia Costa, Antonio Banderas, Alex Monner, Jean Smart, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Lorenza Izzo.

"This is Us" premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and it was released in theaters on September 21, 2018. The film received generally negative reviews from critics. This is Amazon Studio's widest release since the studio started distributing its own films, opening in over 2,500 theaters, but the lackluster critical reception and a lack of awareness might spell box-office trouble for the film.
