Product Description: Set in the mid-sixties in Aden (Yemen) The Last Post centers on the lives of a Royal Military Police unit and their families, in the last days of the British Empire. The show has been created by Peter Moffat (Criminal Justice, Silk, Undercover) and stars Jessica Raine, Jessie Buckley, Stephen Campbell Moore, Ben Miles and Jeremy Neumark-Jones.
The process of crafting the soundtrack for The Last Post was unusual in that Solomon Grey (Joe Wilson and Tom Kingston) made frequent visits to the filming location in South Africa, writing and recording. The resulting score features both electronic and classical orchestral instrumentation, creating a rich dystopian sonic landscape that befits the story.
Joe from the band also appears as an actor in The Last Post , playing a pivotal role in the series.
"Once filming began we were working closely with the sound recording team on set, using wild-tracks and anything that seemed to give us an interesting start-point for the music. We found these 'field recordings' so useful in creating a bespoke soundscape that was unique to this project and it was so much more fun working like that!" (Solomon Grey )
