"Mosaic" is a unique murder mystery from director Steven Soderbergh ("Erin Brockovich", "Traffic") and writer Ed Solomon ("Men in Black") that was released as an iOS/Andoid app in November and will premiere tonight, January 22, 2018, on HBO at 8p as a six-part miniseries.

The app functioned as an interactive movie that allowed users to view the story from multiple non-linear perspectives, choosing which point of view to experience, but without being able to change the plot. Users could also view documents, emails, news etc.

The miniseries puts everything together in a linear way and centers on the mystery surrounding the murder of children's book author/illustrator Olivia Lake (Sharon Stone) that unfolds across two different time periods. The cast also includes Garrett Hedlund, Frederick Weller, Beau Bridges, Paul Reubens, Jennifer Ferrin, Devin Ratray, Michael Cerveris and James Ransone.

"Mosaic" will air across five consecutive nights, with the last two episodes airing Friday, January 26th.

"Presented by PodOp and developed for HBO by Soderbergh and Casey Silver, in conjunction with writer Ed Solomon, the MOSAIC app is an interactive storytelling experience, available as a free download in November, that will be followed by a six-part limited series that will air on HBO in January 2018. Sharon Stone stars, along with Garrett Hedlund, Frederick Weller, Beau Bridges, Paul Reubens, Jennifer Ferrin, Devin Ratray, Michael Cerveris, James Ransone, Jeremy Bobb and Maya Kazan. Three years in the making, the MOSAIC app allows viewers to choose what point-of-view from which to follow the story and to, in effect, build their own experience from the material Soderbergh and Solomon created. The choices one makes build upon one another, enabling multiple tellings of the story from different perspectives and, sometimes, with different conclusions. Viewers will be able to see how their own versions of the story on the app ultimately compare to Soderbergh’s six-part linear narrative in January."
