It's December, so it's time for yet another "Doctor Who" Christmas Special. This year's 60-minute episode is titled "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" and it pits the Doctor (Pete Capaldi) against brain-swapping aliens. To fight this menace, he teams up with Nardole (Matt Lucas), an investigative reporter and an American superhero named The Ghost (Justin Chatwin).
"The Return of Doctor Mysterio" is directed by Ed Bazalgette ("Poldark") from a script by Steven Moffat, and will air on December 25th.

Official Synopsis
"With brain-swapping aliens poised to attack, the Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, and Nardole, played by Matt Lucas, link up with an investigative reporter and a mysterious figure known only as The Ghost. Can the Doctor save Manhattan and what will be revealed behind the mask?
The 60-minute Doctor Who Christmas Special is written by Steven Moffat, Executive Produced by Brian Minchin, Produced by Peter Bennett and Directed by Ed Bazalgette (Poldark). It was shot in Cardiff at BBC Wales Roath Lock Studios."
