New STAR CITIZEN Trailer Showcases Visual Stabilization

A new trailer for Chris Roberts's highly anticipated PC space sim "Star Citizen" has been released and it showcases a new feature developed for this game called "Visual Stabilization". The video offers a look at the shooting and weapon-handling at a smooth 60 frames per second.

The first-person shooter mechanics are said to be inspired by games such as "Rainbow Six", "ARMA", "Counter-Strike" and "Killzone". But, that's only a small part of what the game has to offer. The final product will allow players to engage in first-person space combat, mining, exploration, and trading in a massively multiplayer persistent universe that will react to the player's behavior.

The game has been in development since 2011 and has been funded via crowdfunding campaigns. As of September 2016, the developers have raised more than $124 million.

There is still no official release date for the game.
