Box-Office: STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON Wins Third Consecutive Weekend

Despite a close call with new wide release "War Room", it was ultimately "Straight Outta Compton" who came out on top, for a third consecutive week, no less. Overall, though, the box-office was pretty weak.

New GOTHAM Season 2 Promo, Images and Posters

A new promo, two images and two posters have been released for the new season of the TV series "Gotham". The new pictures feature series newcomers James Frain as Theo Galavan and Jessica Lucas as his sister Tabitha aka Tigress. The cast also includes Ben McKenzie, Morena Baccarin, Donal Logue, Robin Lord Taylor, Sean Pertwee, Camren Bicondova, David Mazouz, Erin Richards, and Cory Michael Smith.

"Gotham" Season 2 premieres on September 21st.

Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer Writing Movie Together

Jennifer Lawrence ("The Hunger Games") and Amy Schumer ("Trainwreck") will be writing and starring in a movie together. The two became friends a couple of months ago and in early August the two went on a vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. The collaboration was revealed by Lawrence in an interview for the New York Times in which she teased their characters and offered some details about how the collaborative effort works:

"We play sisters. We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now. Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck."

Lawrence finished work on "X-Men: Apocalypse" and will next begin filming the sci-fi romance "Passengers". She's also involved in Sony's "The Rosie Project". This year she can be seen in the final chapter of the Hunger Games, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2", and David O. Russell's biopic "Joy".

Schumer is currently writing a comedy for 20th Century Fox with her sister Kim Caramele which might be directed by "50/50" helmer Jonathan Levine.

7 New NO ESCAPE Clips

Seven new clips have been released for John Erick Dowdle's thriller "No Escape" which opens today in theaters. The film has been getting a mixed reception from critics. According to most reviews, the film provides some genuine thrills that are rare these days, and the cast is equally effective, but the movie becomes uncomfortably xenophobic and can't overcome genre cliches. The film stars Owen Wilson, Lake Bell, Pierce Brosnan, Sterling Jerins and Claire Geare.

WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS - 6 Clips, 18 Pictures, 13 Posters

The electronic music drama "We Are Your Friends" opens today in theaters, so here are six new clips, eighteen images and thirteen new posters for the movie. The film's critical reception has been mixed to negative. Critics have generally complained about the cliched story that wastes the talent of its cast, although, fans of the music might find some things to like about it. The cast features Zac Efron, Wes Bentley, Emily Ratajkowski, Jonny Weston, Shiloh Fernandez, and Jon Bernthal.

WAR ROOM Trailer, Clips and Poster

Today we have the official trailer, four clips and a poster for the faith-based drama "War Room" which opens today in theaters. The film follows Tony and Elizabeth Jordan (T.C. Stallings, Priscilla C. Shirer), a couple who seemingly have it all - great jobs, a beautiful daughter, their dream home. Their marriage, however, is headed for disaster, so they seek the guidance of Miss Clara (Karen Abercrombie), an older, wiser woman who challenges them to create a "War Room" and battle plan based on prayer to save their family. Co-written and directed by Alex Kendrick ("Courageous"), the film also stars Michael Jr., Beth Moore, Jadin Harris, Tenae Downing and Alena Pitts.

Z FOR ZACHARIAH Trailer, Clips and Poster

The post-apocalyptic drama "Z for Zachariah" begins a limited release in theaters today, so here are the official trailer, four clips and a poster for the movie. Margot Robbie stars as a young woman surviving on her own after a nuclear war has wiped out humanity. One day, she encounters another survivor (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a distraught scientist driven mad by radiation exposure and his desperate search for others. The two form a fragile bond that is put to the test when another man (Chris Pine) shows up. Directed by Craig Zobel, the film has nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

First AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL Images and Teaser Videos

A batch of eleven images (via EW) and three promos for "American Horror Story: Hotel" have been released. The anthology series' new season will take place in the Hotel Cortez, which was built in 1930 by James March (Evan Peters) to facilitate various murderous activities, complete with a labyrinthine structure filled with dead ends and secret rooms. The story will alternate between the 1930s, and the present day when The Countess (Lady Gaga), a glamorous socialite with an insatiable thirst for blood and sex, becomes the hotel's new owner.

The cast will also feature Matt Bomer and Finn Wittrock as Donovan and Tristan, The Countess' love interests; Kathy Bates as Iris, Donovan's mother and front desk clerk; Sarah Paulson as Hypodermic Sally, a junkie and friend of The Countess; Angela Bassett as Ramona Royale, a vengeful actress and former lover of The Countess'; Wes Bentley as detective John Lowe, a cop hot on the trail of the Ten Commandments Killer; Chloe Sevigny as the detective's wife, Cheyenne Jackson as fashion icon Will Drake, Naomi Campbell as Vogue editor Claudia, and Denis O'Hare as a movie icon. The show's evil villain this time will be The Addiction Demon, a creature that "has no eyes or mouth but does wield a nasty, conical drillbit dildo."

Other actors set to appear are Max Greenfield, Mare Winningham, Darren Criss, Mädchen Amick, Richard T. Jones and Helena Mattsson. This will be the first season without Jessica Lange, but creator Ryan Murphy promises that "There’s a chance to do something Jessica would not have done."

"Hotel" will also have a connection to the show's first season as one episode of the new season will take us back to the Murder House and Marcy (Christine Estabrook), the realtor who sold the Harmons the home from hell will also return as the Hotel Cortez's real estate agent.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" will premiere on FX October 7th.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS - New Empire Images and BB-8 Creation Details

Empire Magazine has released a few new images from J.J. Abrams "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" and featured BB-8, the new sidekick droid, on its cover. Meanwhile, StarWars.com offered a very interesting article about how BB-8 was made. A few selections from the article which features interviews with senior animatronic designer Joshua Lee and puppeteers Dave Chapman and Brian Herring can be found after the jump.

The film stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

New ASH VS EVIL DEAD Trailer and Featurette

A new trailer and a behind-the-scenes featurette have been released for the upcoming Starz TV series "Ash Vs Evil Dead". The show is produced by "Evil Dead" trilogy director Sam Raimi and it stars franchise veteran Bruce Campbell as Ash, the chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has been dodging responsability, maturity and evil for the past 30 years later. His quiet life, however, will soon be rocked by a Deadite plague that threatens to destroy all of mankind. The cast also features Ray Santiago, Dana Delorenzo, Lucy Lawless, Mimi Rogers and Jill Marie Jones.

In Theaters: HITMAN: AGENT 47, SINISTER 2, AMERICAN ULTRA, SHE'S FUNNY THAT WAY

This weekend in theaters we have three new wide releases. For the gamers we have a new videogame adaptation, "Hitman: Agent 47" starring Rupert Friend. Just don't ask how good it is. For the horror fans we have the sequel "Sinister 2". Likewise, don't ask how good it is. And for the R-rated action/comedy crowd we have "American Ultra" starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart. This one is actually pretty good. In limited release there's the new Peter Bogdanovich comedy "She's Funny That Way", which might not be the filmmaker's finest creation but it does boast a great cast and a warm feeling of nostalgia.

4 New HITMAN: AGENT 47 Clips

Four new clips for "Hitman: Agent 47" have been released online. The videogame adaptation opens today in theaters, but it looks like fans of the games will be disappointed. The film is one of the year's worst reviewed films with a Rottentomatoes score of 8% and an average rating of 3.6 out of 10, which is comparable to the "Fantastic Four" level of crappiness. While not completely without qualities, especially for those looking to watch a relatively fun, brainless actioner, for everyone else the film might prove to be a dull exercise in over-the-top action laced with an illogial plot. The cast features Rupert Friend, Hannah Ware, Zachary Quinto, Thomas Kretschmann, Ciaran Hinds, Emilio Rivera and Alex Young.

4 New SINISTER 2 Clips

Four new clips have been released for the horror sequel "Sinister 2", which opens in theaters today. Directed by Ciaran Foy ("Citadel"), the film continues to build the myth of Buhguul, but according to the critics, the results are not as impressive as in the first film. Although there's plenty of creepy atmosphere for fans of the genre, it seems that the movie lacks finesse and is poorly executed. The film stars Shannyn Sossamon, Robert and Dartanian Sloan, James Ransone, Tate Ellington and Nicholas King

New AMERICAN ULTRA Clips and B-Roll

The action comedy "American Ultra" opens today in theaters and we have two new clips and a B-Roll from the movie. The critical reception has been pretty harsh, with many reviewers noting that the film's experimental mix of B-movie vibes, ultra-violence and black comedy doesn't work all the way despite solid efforts from the cast and some interesting ideas from writer Max Landis ("Chronicle"). The film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Topher Grace, Walton Goggins, Connie Britton, Bill Pullman, John Leguizamo, and Tony Hale.

SHE'S FUNNY THAT WAY Trailer, Clips, Images and Posters

The comedy "She's Funny That Way" opens today in theaters, so here are the official trailer, five clips, fourteen images and four posters. Co-written and directed by Peter Bogdanovich ("The Last Picture Show"), the film is a screwball comedy that focuses on a a love triangle formed on the set of a playwright's new project between his wife, her ex-lover, and the call girl-turned-actress cast in the production. The cast features Imogen Poots, Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Kathryn Hahn, Rhys Ifans, Will Forte, Cybill Shepherd and Debi Mazar.

New THE MARTIAN Trailer and Images

A new trailer and two images for the sci-fi film "The Martian" have been released. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film is based on Andy Weir's novel and it tells the story of an astronaut (Matt Damon) who is presumed dead and left behind by his crew after a failed Mars mission. With limited supplies, he must use his ingenuity, wit and spirit to survive and find a way to contact Earth. Jessica Chastain, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Sebastian Stan, Kate Mara, Donald Glover, Sean Bean, Mackenzie Davis, and Michael Pena co-star.

"The Martian" will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in september, followed by an official release in theaters on November 25th.

THE WITCH Trailer and Poster

The first trailer and poster for the horror film "The Witch" have been released. Written and directed by Robert Eggers, the film takes place in 1630 New England and it follows a small family that begins to unravel, turning against each other, when their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail. The film won the Directing Award and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. The cast features Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Katie Dickie, Harvey Scrimshaw, Lucas Dawson, and Ellie Grainger

"The Witch" will open in theaters sometime in 2016.

Today we have the first trailer, poster and a bunch of set photos for the action comedy "Ride Along 2". In this sequel, Ben (Kevin Hart) heads to Miami with his soon-to-be brother-in-law James (Ice Cube) to bring down a drug dealer. Directed by Tim Story, the film also stars Tika Sumpter, Ken Jeong, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn, Bruce McGill, Tip "T.I." Harris, Nadine Velazquez, Tyrese Gibson and Sherri Shepherd.

NARCOS Trailers, Images and Posters

Netflix has released two trailers, six images and four posters for their upcoming series "Narcos". The focus of the ten-episode series is Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and the efforts of law enforcement to break down the drug trafficking operations in the late 1980s. The series is produced by José Padilha ("Elite Squad") who also directed the first episode, and the cast also features Boyd Holbrook, Pedro Pascal, Stephanie Sigman, Maurice Compte, Luis Guzmán and Juan Pablo Raba.

The entire first season of "Narcos" will premiere on August 28th.
