A batch of eleven images (via EW) and three promos for
"American Horror Story: Hotel" have been released. The anthology series' new season will take place in the Hotel Cortez, which was built in 1930 by James March (
Evan Peters) to facilitate various murderous activities, complete with a labyrinthine structure filled with dead ends and secret rooms. The story will alternate between the 1930s, and the present day when The Countess (
Lady Gaga), a glamorous socialite with an insatiable thirst for blood and sex, becomes the hotel's new owner.
The cast will also feature
Matt Bomer and
Finn Wittrock as Donovan and Tristan, The Countess' love interests;
Kathy Bates as Iris, Donovan's mother and front desk clerk;
Sarah Paulson as Hypodermic Sally, a junkie and friend of The Countess;
Angela Bassett as Ramona Royale, a vengeful actress and former lover of The Countess';
Wes Bentley as detective John Lowe, a cop hot on the trail of the Ten Commandments Killer;
Chloe Sevigny as the detective's wife,
Cheyenne Jackson as fashion icon Will Drake,
Naomi Campbell as Vogue editor Claudia, and
Denis O'Hare as a movie icon. The show's evil villain this time will be The Addiction Demon, a creature that
"has no eyes or mouth but does wield a nasty, conical drillbit dildo."
Other actors set to appear are
Max Greenfield, Mare Winningham, Darren Criss, Mädchen Amick, Richard T. Jones and
Helena Mattsson. This will be the first season without
Jessica Lange, but creator
Ryan Murphy promises that
"There’s a chance to do something Jessica would not have done."
"Hotel" will also have a connection to the show's first season as one episode of the new season will take us back to the Murder House and Marcy (
Christine Estabrook), the realtor who sold the Harmons the home from hell will also return as the Hotel Cortez's real estate agent.
"American Horror Story: Hotel" will premiere on FX October 7th.
