The first red-band trailer and poster for the thriller "Triple 9" have been released. Directed by John Hillcoat ("The Road"), the film tells the story of a gang of criminals and corrupt cops who plan to murder a police officer in order to pull off their biggest heist yet across town.
I don't know how good the movie is going to be, but the trailer is pure awesomeness on all levels. The music, the editing, all work together beautifully to showcase the dark brutal street warfare envisioned by Hillcoat. I just hope it doesn't end up being better than the movie itself.
The cast is also incredible, featuring Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Gal Gadot, Norman Reedus, Aaron Paul, Teresa Palmer, and Clifton Collins Jr..
"Triple 9" will open in theaters on February 19th.
Check out the red band trailer and poster after the jump.
Official Synopsis
"In TRIPLE NINE, a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist and the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for "officer down." Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck action-packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge. "
