STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Final Trailer and Poster

Star Wars The Force Awakens Final Trailer and Poster

The final trailer and poster for J.J. Abrams "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" have been released online, and they are pure, unadultered awesomeness. Sweeping starship battles, lightsabers glaring in the dark, old themes of good versus evil, that classic John Williams score, and a host of familiar characters will all certainly please fans of the franchise and make the wait until December even more difficult. Even the film's stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega were in awe, as you can see from their Instagram reactions embedded after the jump.

The film has also just broken the ticket pre-sale record previously held by the first "The Hunger Games". "The Force Awakens" has sold eight times as many tickets as that movie and theaters are continually adding new show times on Fandango to meet the phenomenal demand. Also, several sites, including Fandango, experienced outages due to the record-breaking traffic.

The film stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.

UPDATE: Added Music-only Trailer Edit.

Check out the trailer and poster after the jump.
