Antoine Fuqua's "The Equalizer" opens today in theaters, so we have a collection of five clips from the awesome actioner. An adaptation of the 1980s TV show of the same name, the film stars Denzel Washington as a former-commando vigilante who starts a war with the Russian mafia to save the life of a young girl (Chloë Grace Moretz). So far, the film has earned mixed reviews from critics, but it's already more than the genre usually gets. Most of the praise is directed towards Fuqua's stylish direction and Washington's kick-ass performance. In my book, that means it's a must-see. The film also stars Marton Csokas, David Harbour, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo.

"In The Equalizer, Denzel Washington plays McCall, a former black ops commando who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston. When he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl, Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), he finds himself face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters. As he serves vengeance against those who brutalize the helpless, McCall’s desire for justice is reawakened.
