UNBROKEN Trailer: The Story of WWII Hero Louis Zamperini

unbroken movie trailer

We have a new trailer for Angelina Jolie's World War II drama "Unbroken". Based on Laura Hillenbrand's book, the film tells the true story of Olympian and war hero Louis Zamperini (Jack O’Connell) who, along with two other crewmen, survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII—only to be caught by the Japanese Navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp. So far, the film looks like a typical Oscar-bait insipirational flick, but I suppose it's too early to pass judgements, although the trailer does make it so tempting. The cast also features Domhnall Gleeson, Finn Wittrock, Alex Russell, Carla Thexton and Garrett Hedlund. The screenplay is written by the Coen brothers ("No Country For Old Men"), Richard LaGravenese ("The Fisher King") and William Nicholson ("Gladiator").

"Unbroken" opens in theaters on December 25th.

Watch the trailer after the jump.
