Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz ("Oz the Great and Powerful", "The Constant Gardener") is in early talks to star in the Dreamworks drama "The Light Between Oceans". The film is based on M.L. Stedman's international bestseller and it will be directed by Derek Cianfrance ("The Place Beyond the Pines"). The story is set in the years following World War I, on a remote Australian island and it follows a lighthouse keeper and his wife who are faced with a moral dilemma when a boat washes ashore with a dead man a two-month-old infant. The couple decides to raise the child as their own, but their choice brings about terrible consequences. Weisz has been offered the role of the child's mother. The cast also features Michael Fassbender ("12 Months A Slave") and Alicia Vikander ("Anna Karenina").
