Rooney Mara ("The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo") is set to produce and star in the drama "A House in the Sky". The film is based on Canadian journalist Amanda Lindhout's memoir about her abduction in 2008 by Somali rebel terrorists. Lindhout was held in chains, starved, and subjected to torture and rape. Her captivity ended in November 2009, after 460 days. The memoir has been optioned by Annapurna Pictures with the intent to develop the project as a starring vehicle for Mara, who brought the book to their attention. No further details are available, for now.

Joel and Ethan Coen's new film "Hail, Caesar !", a comedy set in 1950s Hollywood about a "fixer" for the stars, is gathering a very impressive cast. George Clooney is set to star in the lead role, Josh Brolin has been added to the cast a couple of weeks ago, and now Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes are in talks to star. Tatum will play a "Gene Kelly-type star", while Fiennes will play a studio director, and Swinton will star as a Hollywood gossip columnist. "Hail, Caesar !" begins filming later this year.

Dermot Mulroney ("The Grey") has joined the cast of the horror sequel "Insidious: Chapter 3". The news was delivered by franchise writer Leigh Whannell via Twitter:

"HUGELY excited to officially announce that great actor/great human Dermot Mulroney has been cast as one of the leads in Insidious Chapter 3!"

Whannell will write and direct the third installment after James Wan left to direct "Fast & Furious 7", and so far the cast also includes Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, Stefanie Scott and Whannell himself. "Insidious: Chapter 3" begins filming on July 7th and it will open in theaters on April 3rd, 2015.
