What to Expect : Typical Brett Ratner ("Rush Hour") action comedy, loud and silly, but a lot of fun. As a highlight, the movie features one of Eddie Murphy's best roles in a very long time.
Critical Response : Mixed to Positive. Critics couldn't let the movie get away with its obvious flaws, including a preposterous plot and hit-and-miss humor, but reviewers conceded that the crowd-pleasing mood and the funny ensemble cast, including Murphy's return to form, keep the movie from sinking. Rated 67% on Rottentomatoes.com from 77 positive and 38 negative reviews.
