Official Synopsis : Star racecar Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in Cars 2 when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world's fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (Michael Caine) and the stunning spy-in-training Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer). -- (C) Disney

What to Expect : A bit of a disappointment, according to critics (see below), but still an appealing sequel to Pixar's unmpteenth hit "Cars". Expect the usual Pixar standards, which means great visuals, heartfelt story and excellent voice acting.

Critical Response : Chalk this up as one Pixar's worst movies ever, according to the critics. Sure, the first "Cars" wasn't their best effort, but this one scored the lowest among the majority of reviewers, who called it derivative, tedious and devoid of inspiration. The general conclusion seems to be that this is an unnecessary sequel. Some critics even had a problem with having Larry the Cable Guy carry most of the movie. Roger Ebert however loved the movie, awarding it 3 and 1/2 stars out of 4. "Cars 2" currently holds a disappointing 36% fresh rating on Rottentomatoes.com from 36 positive and 64 negative reviews.
