Have you been eagerly awaiting to see the Smurf in a movie ? Prepare to be disappointed by "The Smurfs". This mix of animated characters and live action is pretty much like "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and we do remember how that one played out. Director Raja Gosnell has such classics under his belt as "Home Alone 3" and Scooby Doo" 1 & 2. I don't mean to be a grinch here, but this doesn't look very inspiring. Opens July 29 in the US and Canada, quickly followed by Europe throughout August.
