"Hana-Kimi" is a new anime series based on the manga written and illustrated by
Hisaya Nakajo. Hakusensha published the original manga by from September 1996 – August 2004 in their Hana to Yume shojo manga magazine. VIZ Media also publishes an English language version of the series. It was previously adapted into live-action TV dramas in Taiwan in 2006, Japan in 2007 and 2011, as well as South Korea in 2012.
The anime is directed by
Natsuki Takemura at studio Signal.MD, with series composition by
Takao Yoshioka (
"Horimiya"), character designs by
Shiyi Su (
"Dragon Goes House-Hunting") and music by
Masaru Yokoyama (
"Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze").
Shigeru Ueda serves as assistant director.
The opening and ending theme songs titled
"Adrena" and
"Baby", respectively, are performed by
Yoasobi. The voice cast includes
Aya Yamane, Taku Yashiro, Kikunosuke Toya, Yuichiro Umehara, Jun Fukuyama, Reiji Kawashima, Koki Uchiyama, Wataru Komada and
Anan Furuya.
"Hana-Kimi" premieres on January 4, 2026 and also streams on Crunchyroll. The English dub releases alongside the Japanese version and includes
Katelyn Barr, Wyatt Baker, Dallas Reid, Joshua Waters, Reagan Murdock, Jaclyn Thomas, William Ofoegbu and
Ethan Condon.
