Product Description: Brittany’s Town has unanimously decided to accept Ukrainian refugees in exchange for government subsidies. However, instead of seeing Ukrainian arrive, they now see Syrian migrants, which has caused some conflicts.
Statement from Philippe Jakko:
It was my first collaboration with Julie. As is often the case in comedies, it was a question of highlighting key moments in the film to gain rhythm.
There was already pre-existingmusic chosen by the team, in particular Mozart and Beethoven which adorned the scenes Act 1, 2, 3 etc. from an "operatic" perspective. There is a lot of dialogue in comedies so less room for music than in an adventure film or a thriller, so I squeezed in between all this with themes and sounds that underlined the lightness for example the opening, or with a light piano the meon "the recipe", a theme that will be declined in "The Mayor and the Teacher", "cauliflower", I also wanted a folkloric-sounding theme in "we repaint the tag" for example. In addition, a minimal sound of Kalimba, a repetitive piano with percussion dressed moments such as "the municipal council", "the flag"... all embellished with strings and more serious moments, because it is also a film about migrants and their difficult history, their up rooting: "Wael's flight", "the videos of the conflict", "the poem of the grandfather".
