New on Blu-ray: PETER FALK 4-FILM COMEDY COLLECTION (The Cheap Detective / Big Trouble / Happy New Year / Luv)

Peter Falk 4 Film Comedy Collection New On Bluray

Product Description: Luv (1967) - Depressed by the direction his life is taking, Harry Berlin (Jack Lemmon) decides to take his own life by jumping off the Manhattan Bridge. At the last minute he's stopped by old friend Milt Manville (Peter Falk), a successful stock broker on Wall Street. Milt, however, is facing his own problem: he has fallen out of love with his argumentative wife, Ellen (Elaine May). In a misguided effort to solve both of their problems, Milt introduces Ellen to Harry, hoping the two will fall in love.

The Cheap Detective (1978) - In this satire of film noir, Lou Peckinpaugh (Peter Falk) is a San Francisco detective in the boozy, wise-cracking tradition of Humphrey Bogart in "The Maltese Falcon." A suspect in the murder of his own partner, Lou hopes to solve the crime and exonerate himself before the cops haul him in. Meanwhile, he takes a case involving stolen diamonds, and gets reacquainted with his old flame, Marlene DuChard (Louise Fletcher), who's on the run from the Gestapo.

Big Trouble (1986) - Leonard Hoffman (Alan Arkin) is an insurance salesman struggling to make ends meet. The fact that he has triplet sons who all want to go to Yale isn't making things any easier. Blanche Rickey (Beverly D'Angelo) is also worried about money; her husband is a millionaire with a weak heart (Peter Falk), and she worries that he'll blow through all his cash before he finally dies. When Blanche meets Leonard, she devises a murderous plan that she claims will fix both their problems.

Happy New Year (1987) - John G. Avildsen's wild comedy caper about a pair of con men, Peter Falk and Charles Durning, who team up to rob Palm Beach's most exclusive jewelry store. Masquerading as both a rich octogenarian and his sister, Falk sets out to win the confidence of the store manager and pull off the... almost perfect crime.
