Synopsis:

"NITRAM explores the events leading up to one of Australia’s worst national tragedies, it does not depict the 1996 mass shooting at Port Arthur. The filmmakers have carefully avoided any use of the name of the perpetrator of the 1996 mass shooting in Port Arthur. The character's name in the film is ‘Nitram,’ and we kindly request that all partners involved in the release refer to the character only by this name and avoid any direct reference to the name of the perpetrator in any written or verbal communication relating to the film. Additionally, the filmmakers request that the word massacre is avoided, and any reference to the events in Port Arthur refers to the event as a ‘mass shooting’ or ‘single person mass shooting’.
