Product Description: A test subject at a memory transfer lab commits a crime he cannot remember
From Composer: Edward Antonio
This sci-fi film takes place in rural Texas which led me to have the choice of music with a country feel as well as hybrid cinematic feel. From guitars to massive boomers and binomial pulses, this gives a modern country sci-fi feel. Having both genres to the table was a challenge in itself but was extremely fulfilling and satisfying which made the soundtracks original and memorable. My approach always had director Arvi’s input and insight for every scene. They were meticulously crafted and at times, had many revisions just to get the right touch. If I had to have one word to describe the overall sound for the Cerebrum’s soundtrack, it would be “intense”.
From Director: Arvi
"When I made the decision to make Cerebrum a unique Sci-fi, that it will set in a rural setting, I knew the greatest challenge would come from having the right music. Not only will the music had to do justice for the sci-fi aspects, but will also stay true to the Texas country feel. This is further complicated by the fact that the main character Tom switches between himself and his dad (using Surrogate memory loads). The music needed to be specific to the character and lead the audience to feel what the character is going through. Ed was more than willing to hop on this journey, experiment, and collaborate. There were certain tracks, where we both were not sure what would work and ended up creating twelve different versions before we settled on one. One of the smallest but complicated scores was for the opening sequence, where both country and sci-fi elements had to be equally split. Even the mighty Google was not able to produce a sample for us. Ed played around with his guitar and synth combination and came up with a score that I fell in love with. Every piece of music in Cerebrum was thoughtfully composed to bring the emotions behind a complex plot"
