Product Description: I was asked to play into the awkwardness and creepiness of the film by finding sounds, tones and textures that made up an overall distant vibe. I started by watching a cut with no music at all. I had an idea of what they wanted but was not given any notes at first. Then I wrote a couple of long pieces with varying layers and ideas to see what worked. J.R., (the director) and I would pick things out that we wanted more of and really created things from there. She would hear aspects of those demos that she wanted and also didn’t want, which made the process very efficient and most of all, really enjoyable. The music is a combination of synths, filters and effects with a few layers of authentic instruments that are indiscernible. There were many layers to the characters, most with a dark past that is not known for the first part of the film. Working in and around those emotions are both a challenge and a fun ride.
