Paramount's "Sonic the Hedgehog" is ready to conquer the Presidents Day weekend with around $46 million over the extended holiday from 4,130 theaters, which is the largest opening ever for a video game adaptation. The film has already delivered $3 million from Thursday previews.

But the Sonic movie isn't the only wide release this weekend. Three more films are competing for a big debut at the box-office. The first is the romance "The Photograph", which aims to take advantage of Valentine's Day. So far the film is off to a modest start with $650,000 from previews, and its four-day launch is expected to land somewhere between $10-13 million from 2,500 theaters.

Another new release is Blumhouse's "Fantasy Island" reboot which opens in 2,784 theaters and is expected to finish the four-day weekend with around $15 million. "Downhill", a remake of the 2014 film "Force Majeure", is also out in theaters this weekend, but it doesn't look like the film will finish in the Top 10.

Synopses, details, critical/audience reception, trailers, and more after the jump.
