  • Product Description: In more than a century, the peplum has spawned a path in popular culture with swords and bodybuilder heroes. Decryption of a full-fledged genre.

PEPLUMS, MUSCLES, GLAIVE ET FANTASMES tells the story of the peplum genre in cinema, from its beginning in the silent movie’s era to our modern era.

As for the music, I wanted to merge the sonorities of traditional peplum with modern electronic music. Hence the use of massive trumpets and horns samples as well as choirs within an electro background. The use of electronic music is intended to create a shift with the expected tone of the music.

I also used duduk and cimbalom, used in more recent peplums.
