THE COMEDIAN Trailer, Clips, Images and Poster


Directed by Taylor Hackford ("Ray"), the comedy "The Comedian" stars Robert De Niro as Jackie, an aging comic icon who's reached something of a dead end in his career. No matter how hard he tries to reinvent himself, people only want to know him as the former television character he once played. After accosting an audience member, Jackie is sentenced to perform community service, where he meets Harmony (Leslie Mann), and the two find unexpected inspiration in one another.

The film also stars Harvey Keitel, Danny DeVito, Patti LuPone, Edie Falco, Charles Grodin and Cloris Leachman.

"The Comedian" opened in theaters in limited release on December 9, 2016, and expanded nationwide on February 3rd. It received a negative critical reception and poor box-office results, grossing less than $1 million in its first wide opening weekend.

The film is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Official Synopsis
"An aging comic icon, Jackie (Robert De Niro) has seen better days.  Despite his efforts to reinvent himself and his comic genius, the audience only wants to know him as the former television character he once played.  Already a strain on his younger brother (Danny DeVito) and his wife (Patti LuPone), Jackie is forced to serve out a sentence doing community service for accosting an audience member. While there, he meets Harmony (Leslie Mann), the daughter of a sleazy Florida real estate mogul (Harvey Keitel), and the two find inspiration in one another resulting in surprising consequences."
