"John Hollar, a struggling NYC artist is forced to navigate the small middle-American town he left behind when news of his mother’s illness brings him home. Back in the house he grew up in, John is immediately swept up in the problems of his dysfunctional family, high school rival, and an over-eager ex-girlfriend as he faces impending fatherhood with his girlfriend in New York. From a script by Jim Strouse that is at turns hilarious and heartbreaking, John Krasinski’s second feature is a poignant look at the bonds of family and friendship."

Official Synopsis

Max Rose Movie Poster
"At 90 years young, comedy legend Jerry Lewis is returning to the big screen. The iconic nonagenarian stars as the titular widower in the upcoming drama Max Rose, a film that could trigger more tears than laughter.

Days before the death of Eva (Claire Bloom), his wife of 65 years, jazz pianist Max discovers that she had another man in her life. The news is just as shocking to his son (Kevin Pollak) and granddaughter (Kerry Bishé), and it leads Max on a journey to track down Eva’s secret lover, Ben (Dean Stockwell).

The trailer touts Max Rose as Lewis’s “most personal role of a lifetime.” It’s certainly a personal undertaking for writer-director Daniel Noah, who based Max and Eva on his own late grandparents.

Lewis, who shot to fame in the late-1940s as one half of the musical-comedy duo Martin and Lewis, before embarking on a solo career that included such classics as the Nutty Professor and The King of Comedy, hasn’t been seen or heard from much in recent years. In fact, Max Rose is Lewis’s first lead role since 1995’s comic tale Funny Bones, in which he costarred with Oliver Platt."

VOYAGE OF TIME (2016)

Terrence Malick

Official Synopsis

Voyage of Time Movie Poster
"Voyage of Time: The IMAX Experience is a one-of-a-kind celebration of life and the grand history of the cosmos, transporting audiences into a vast yet up-close and personal journey that spans the eons from the Big Bang to the dinosaur age to our present human world… and beyond. A labor of love from one of American cinema’s most acclaimed and visually exciting filmmakers, Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life), Voyage ofTime has been nearly four decades in the making and represents the filmmaker’s first foray into documentary storytelling. The film’s panorama of awe-inspiring images will take you into the heart of monumental events never witnessed — from the birth of the stars and galaxies to the explosion of diverse life-forms on planet earth, including humankind — in immersive new ways that only IMAX can deliver. This is a cosmic experience — a hymn to the glories of nature, life and scientific discovery — in which all the elements come together to form Malick’s most original film to date."
