In Theaters: THE TRANSPORTER REFUELED, A WALK IN THE WOODS, BEFORE WE GO, CREEP

in-theaters-transporter-refueled-walk-in-the-woods-before-we-go-creep

Now that summer is behind us, things are starting to slow down in theaters. There are only two new wide releases, of which one is a pretty bad reboot of "The Transporter", and the other is the indie dramedy "A Walk in the Woods" starring Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. The latter is actually a more decent offering, despite receiving mostly mixed reviews, but it doesn't look like a huge box-office hit. In limited release we have Chris Evans' directorial debut "Before We Go" and the Jason Blum-produced horror "Creep" starring Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass. More about each movie after the jump.

Synopses, details, critical reception, trailers, clips and more after the jump.

THE TRANSPORTER REFUELED

The Transporter Refueled

Official Synopsis

Frank Martin (played by newcomer Ed Skrein), a former special-ops mercenary, is now living a less perilous life - or so he thinks - transporting classified packages for questionable people. When Frank's father (Ray Stevenson) pays him a visit in the south of France, their father-son bonding weekend takes a turn for the worse when Frank is engaged by a cunning femme-fatale, Anna (Loan Chabanol), and her three seductive sidekicks to orchestrate the bank heist of the century. Frank must use his covert expertise and knowledge of fast cars, fast driving and fast women to outrun a sinister Russian kingpin, and worse than that, he is thrust into a dangerous game of chess with a team of gorgeous women out for revenge.

A WALK IN THE WOODS

A Walk in the Woods

Official Synopsis

In this new comedy adventure, celebrated travel writer, Bill Bryson (Academy Award winner Robert Redford), instead of retiring to enjoy his loving and beautiful wife (Academy Award winner Emma Thompson), and large and happy family, challenges himself to hike the Appalachian Trail - 2,200 miles of America's most unspoiled, spectacular and rugged countryside from Georgia to Maine. The peace and tranquility he hopes to find, though, is anything but, once he agrees to being accompanied by the only person he can find willing to join him on the trek - his long lost and former friend Katz (Academy Award nominee Nick Nolte), a down-on-his-luck serial philanderer who, after a lifetime of relying on his charm and wits to keep one step ahead of the law - sees the trip as a way to sneak out of paying some debts and sneak into one last adventure before its too late. The trouble is, the two have a completely different definition of the word, "adventure". Now they're about to find out that when you push yourself to the edge, the real fun begins.

CREEP

Creep (2015) Movie Image

Official Synopsis

Looking for work, Aaron (Patrick Brice) comes across a cryptic online ad: "$1,000 for the day. Filming service. Discretion is appreciated." Low on cash and full of naiveté, he decides to go for it. He drives to a cabin in a remote mountain town where he meets Josef (Mark Duplass), his cinematic subject for the day. Josef is sincere and the project seems heartfelt, so Aaron begins to film. But as the day goes on, it becomes clear that Josef is not who he says, and his intentions are not at all pure. The directorial debut of Patrick Brice and produced by Jason Blum (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, INSIDIOUS) and Mark Duplass (SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED), CREEP's intense interplay between its two protagonists upends expectations at every turn.
