The thriller "The Gift" opens in theaters today, so here are the official trailer, seven clips and three posters for the movie. Written, directed by and starring Joel Edgerton, the film tells the story of a young married couple, Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) whose lives take a brutal turn for the worse when they meet Gordo (Edgerton), one of Simon's high school acquaintances, who is about to uncover a dark secret from his past.
Reviews for the movie have been stellar. While most critics acknowledged the existence of the usual genre cliches, the film managed to surprise everyone with influences from filmmaking masters like Alfred Hitchcock and Michael Haneke.
The film also stars Beau Knapp, Wendell Pierce, Tim Griffin, Allison Tolman and Mirrah Foulkes.

Official Synopsis
"Simon and Robyn are a young married couple whose life is going just as planned until a chance encounter with an acquaintance from Simon's high school sends their world into a harrowing tailspin. Simon doesn't recognize Gordo at first, but after a series of uninvited encounters and mysterious gifts prove troubling, a horrifying secret from the past is uncovered after more than 20 years. As Robyn learns the unsettling truth about what happened between Simon and Gordo, she starts to question: how well do we really know the people closest to us, and are past bygones ever really bygones?"
