Dan Stevens (
"Downton Abbey") and
Luke Evans (
"Fast & Furious 6") could be the latest additions to Disney's live-action adaptation of
"Beauty and the Beast" which stars
Emma Watson in the lead. Stevens is in talks to play the Beast, that is the prince who was turned into a beast. The role was previously offered to
Eddie Redmayne who turned it down. Evans is also in negotiations for the role of Gaston, the villain of the story. The film will be directed by
Bill Condon (
"Dreamgirls") from a script by
Stephen Chbosky (
"The Perks of Being a Wall Flower"). This is the fifth film in Disney's series of live-action adaptations, following
"Alice in Wonderland",
"Maleficent", this year's
"Cinderella" and next year's
"The Jungle Book". There is currently no release date for
"Beauty and the Beast", but production is expected to begin later this year.
