Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" trilogy has received plenty of negative comments for being an overlong and unnecessary addition to the Middle Earth franchise. I personally loved the trilogy, as they're still some of the best fantasy adventure films Hollywood can offer these days, but I must agree that stretching a 300-page book over three movies, each with considerable running times, is overall a questionable decision for a cinematic project. Some cinematic adaptations are accused of not being faithful enough to the source material, but Jackson can't be accused of it since he even had to add material outside the book (Tolkien's Appendecies) to pad out the running time. I think two movies would have been sufficient for this story, as was originally planned when Guillermo del Toro was on board to direct.
Honest Trailers and How it Should Have Ended have each delivered their own funny takes on the last movie in the franchise, "The Battle of the Five Armies". Regardless of how you feel about Jackson's movie, the videos are still quite funny. Enjoy !
