The first trailer and poster for "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" have been released. Produced by Jason Blum ("Paranormal Activity") and Ryan Murphy ("American Horror Story"), the film is actually a sequel to Charles B. Pierce's 1976 horror film of the same name. It's a bit weird that they chose to keep the same title, as it may cause some confusion, although I must admit, a sequel made after 40 years does need something more specific to tie it to the original. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directs the sequel which continues the story of the "moonlight murders" 65 years after the original masked serial killer terrorized the small town of Texarkana. The cast features Addison Timlin, Gary Cole, Spencer Treat Clark, Veronica Cartwright and Joshua Leonard.
"The Town That Dreaded Sundown" will be released in theaters on October 16th.
