Holliday Grainger to Star in 'TULIP FEVER'

Holliday Grainger ("The Borgias") is set to star in the adaptation of Deborah Moggach's novel "Tulip Fever". The story is set in 17th century Amsterdam and it focuses on an artist who falls for a married young woman (Grainger) while he's commissioned to paint her portrait. The lovers gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together. The film will be directed by Justin Chadwick ("Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom") and also stars Christoph Waltz and Dane DeHaan.

SPACE JAM 2 Moving Forward With LeBron James

I'm surprised that until now Hollywood never considered doing a sequel to the 1996 live-action/animated movie "Space Jam" which starred Michael Jordan and the entire cast of Looney Toons characters. But, you know what they say, better late than never. The sequel is being developed by Charlie and Willie Ebersol and Miami Heat player LeBron James will star in the lead role. It might be too little too late, since the first film's popularity faded in the 18 years that have passed. Still, with the right presentation, the sequel could turn out to be a hit. Nothing else is known about the sequel, but more details should surface soon.

Edward Norton to Direct and Star in 'MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN'

"Motherless Brooklyn", an adaptation of Jonathan Lethem's novel of the same name, is Edward Norton's passion project, one that has taken the actor more than 15 years to develop. Now, the project is finally moving forward and will be produced by Brett Ratner ("Rush Hour"). Norton will direct and also star in the lead role as a "a lonely private detective afflicted with Tourette Syndrome, who tries to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend. Armed only with few clues and an obsessive mind, Lionel slowly unravels closely-guarded secrets that have major ramifications. It leads him through Harlem jazz clubs, Brooklyn slums and sets him against thugs and Gotham power brokers to honor his friend and save a woman who might his own salvation." Filming is scheduled to begin this year in New York.

Meryl Streep Joins the Cast of 'SUFFRAGETTE'

Meryl Street has joined the cast of the women's rights drama "Suffragette". Streep will play political activist Emmeline Pankhurst, a small but vital role in the film which tells the story of a woman (Carey Mulligan) who has been instrumental to the early feminist movement. Emmeline Pankhurst was named as one of the top 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century by Time Magazine in 1999. The film is directed by Sarah Gavron from a script by Abi Morgan ("Shame", "The Iron Lady") and it also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Romola Garai, Brendan Gleeson and Anne-Marie Duff.
