The first trailer for the vehicular thriller "Getaway" has been released. The film stars Ethan Hawke as Brent Magna, a former race car driver who is forced to drive a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang in a race against the clock, in order to save his wife from a mysterious villain (Jon Voight). Selena Gomez also stars as the unwitting passenger of the vehicle. The main attraction here, of course, are the car chases, and I have a feeling this will be a typical B-style pulpy ride, complete with names like Brent Magna, over-the-top action sequences and ridiculous villain accents. "Getaway" opens on August 30, 2013.

"Getaway is the gritty, heart-pounding action thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment in which former race car driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) is pitted against the clock. Desperately trying to save the life of his kidnapped wife, Brent commandeers a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Selena Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage."
