A new character and a new cast member have been announced for Bryan Singer's sequel "X-Men: Days of Future Past". The character is Quicksilver and the actor who is going to play him is "American Horror Story" star Evan Peters. The character first appeared in the Marvel's X-Men comics in 1964 and he is the son of Magneto and twin brother of the Scarlet Witch. As a mutant he is capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds. What's even more interesting is that Joss Whedon recently stated that he has written both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch into the script for "The Avengers 2". The obvious idea would be that the two franchises will somehow become connected within the same cinematic universe, but the main obstacle is that "The Avengers" and all its affiliated stand-alone superhero films belong to Marvel/Disney and "X-Men" belongs to 20th Century Fox. It doesn't seem likely at this point that the two rival studios would join forces, so time will tell. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" opens on July 18, 2014
