The trailer for Ron Howard's Formula 1 racing drama "Rush" is here at last. The film, set in the 1970s, tells the true story of the rivalry between British driver James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Austrian driver Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl). From the trailer, it appears that the racing and the melodrama will be equally intense.
Ron Howard is a veteran director whose body of work includes films like "Apollo 13", "A Beautiful Mind", "Backdraft", "The Da Vinci Code", "Angels & Demons" and "Cinderella Man". He is always the go-to director for some good old-fashioned Hollywood entertainment. Although his films (recent output in particular) are mostly regarded as workmanlike, I've always appreciated the man's flair for striking visuals and exciting stories, and "Rush" could be one of those films. I haven't seen a solid popcorn drama in a long time. My expectations are high. "Rush" opens in theaters on September 20, 2013.
