The first movie clip from Paul Feig's action comedy "The Heat" is here. The film stars Sandra Bullock as an uptight FBI agent who must team up with a loud-mouthed cop, played by Melissa McCarthy, against a ruthless drug lord. The clip extends a scene previewed in the trailers, and it's really funny. Bullock and McCarthy will make an awesome duo, but let's hope that the movie is smart enough to not just depend on the chemistry between the two. A smart script that gives both characters a little more to do than just what is required by the buddy-cop formula should do the trick, I think. Paul Feig also directed "Bridesmaids", so there's hope. "The Heat" opens on June 28, 2013.
Watch the movie clip after the jump.
Official Synopsis
"Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies. From Paul Feig, the director of "Bridesmaids". "
