After the great 007 hit that was "Skyfall", MGM is ready to start work on the 24th installment in the James Bond franchise. According to Reuters, MGM CEO Gary Barber has declared the following:
"We are currently developing the screenplay and working with our partners. We look forward to developing the script soon and signing a director. We are hoping within the next 3 years it will be released."Daniel Craig has already signed on for two more films, but "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes will not return to helm the sequel. Longtime James Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have also left the franchise. However, both Mendes and writer John Logan have already thought up a scenario for the next film, and Logan will write the script for "Bond 24".
