First Images from the BEVERLY HILLS COP TV Series

Eddie Murphy Beverly Hills Cop

One of the more interesting propositions in television this year is the upcoming "Beverly Hills Cop" TV series. For now we only have a few behind-the-scenes images, which you can check out after the jump. The show's creator is Shawn Ryan ("The Shield", "Last Resort"). He wrote the pilot episode, which will be directed by Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black"), and will also serve as executive producer for the series. The focus of the show will be Axel Foley's son, played by Brandon T. Jackson. Aaron Foley is struggling to come out from under his father's shadow in Detroit, so he moves to Beverly Hills to fight crime. The show will also star Kevin Pollak as the police department's lawyer, an "incredibly risk-averse, a stickler for the rules, and a loud-mouthed bully". Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold will reprise their roles from the films, but only for the pilot episode, it seems. Murphy might stay on the show as a recurring character, if CBS orders more episodes.

Check out the behind-the-scenes images after the jump.
