In Theaters : IN TIME (2011)

Official Synopsis : When Will Salas is falsely accused of murder, he must figure out a way to bring down a system where time is money - literally - enabling the wealthy to live forever while the poor, like Will, have to beg, borrow, and steal enough minutes to make it through another day.

Genre: Thriller, Sci-Fi

What to Expect : High-concept sci-fi thriller set in a dystopian future built around the concept of "time" and class inequality. It's ambitious, but also too generic in execution. Written and directed by Andrew Niccol the man behind such interesting human dramas as "The Truman Show" (screenplay), "Lord of War" and "Gattaca".

Critical Response : Mixed to Negative. While most reviews counted the interesting premise and well-rounded cast among the highlights of "In Time", a lot of the negative reviews bashed the movie for subpar filmmaking which focuses more on thrills and less on its promising plot. It's an all-too-generic sci-fi thriller that one critic compares to Michael Bay's "The Island". Rated 36% on Rottentomatoes.com from 32 positive and 56 negative reviews.
