The German submarine war movie, "Das Boot", is one of the great classics, nominated for 6 Oscars, including Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director, Wolfgang Petersen, who has since moved on to big budget blockbusters like "Troy" or "The Perfect Storm". The movie is a deeply immersive experience that will give you a complete picture of what it was like to be a part of the submarine battles of the Second World War. Claustrophobic and suspenseful, thrilling and unforgettable, the movie is guaranteed to appeal to World War II enthusiasts and not just them, I dare say. The Blu-Ray release contains the theatrical cut and the director's cut (around 200 minutes long) of the movie.
