What to Expect : Old-school patriotics and kick-ass comic book heroics, courtesy of Marvel. Don't go about trying to find any subversive messages or propaganda, just take it for what it is : a comic book super-hero adventure with a fine cast and lots of explosions. Johnston, who directed "Jumanji" and "Jurassic Park III", is no stranger to adventure movies.

Critical Response : Surprisingly positive. Critics looked past the cliches and cartoonish characters and enjoyed the show, particularly its action sequences, cinematography, and (even more surprisingly) the acting. The critics were pretty disappointed by the 3D, though. Rated 70% on Rottentomatoes.com from 66 positive and 28 negative reviews.
