For a second consecutive week, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is at the top of the box-office with solid week-end and overall earnings. Also, this week, two other movies opened in the top 10, hoping to pull in solid amounts of cash, "Horrible Bosses" and "Zookeeper", one rated R and boasting a dream-team of actors : Jason Bateman, Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Fox, and the other rated PG-13, produced by Adam Sandler and starring Kevin James. Read on to find out who earned what at the box-office.
As you can see from the figures below, more people went to see the raunchy kill-your-boss comedy, while the PG-13 crowd probably went to see "Transformers". Last week's "Larry Crowne", written and directed by Tom Hanks and the tween comedy "Monte Carlo" continue to underperform with even worse expectations for the following week. Jim Carrey's "Mr. Popper's Penguins" also took a nose-dive. Still holding on is the Cameron Diaz raunchy comedy "Bad Teacher" which is doing some solid business despite the aggressive and much less age-restrictive competition. Another pleasant surprise is Pixar's "Cars 2", which despite bad reviews and a less-than-spectacular opening, has managed to plug the holes and head for profit. Not Pixar's best effort, but far from a flop. "Green Lantern" continues to solidify its rank as this year's biggest flop.
