Seth Rogen stars in this movie about a reckless playboy who teams up with his late father's assistant and becomes a masked vigilante. "The Green Hornet" faced many shortcomings, and in the end succumbed to most of them. Director Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind") probably had honorable intentions, but they got splattered all over the place. It's not really all that bad, just not very good. And the 3D ? What 3D ? Available as DVD, Blu-Ray and the usual Three-Disc Combo (Blu-Ray 3D/Blu-Ray/DVD).
The Dilemma
An inane comedy starring Vince Vaugh, Kevin James, Winona Rider and Jennifer Connely about the dilemma of whether or not you should tell your best friend that his wife is cheating on him. Possibly a good premise, squandered on Vaughn's antics and drained of both wit and laughs. Director Ron Howard can usually approach any subject, and he's handled comedy before ("Parenthood"), but this time, he completely misses the mark. Available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
From Dusk Till Dawn (Blu-Ray)
Roberto Rodriguez's third movie after "El Mariachi" and "Desperado", Clooney's first major mainstream role and a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino following his "Pulp Fiction" success. A cult classic horror movie that spawned two direct-to-video sequels. Clooney and Tarantino are two criminals who along with their hostages must fight off vampires while caught inside a seedy establishment. Over-the-top gore and wanton violence ensue in this gruesome action extravaganza. Now available on Blu-Ray. No special features, though, which is just plain lazy of them.
What Dreams May Come (Blu-Ray)
A beautiful movie about the afterlife. Robin Williams, Annabella Sciorra, Cuba Gooding Jr and Max von Sydow give life to the characters that inhabit this unusually profound story of love, loss and redemption. Oscar winner for Best Visual Effects (against "Armageddon" and "Mighty Joe Young"), this is truly a movie you shouldn't miss. Available now on Blu-Ray, which contains some special features, but nothing spectacular.
